Today I have tried making sampled that visually link to my drawings. Most of the samples have been developed from one another rather than from the drawings.

22/10/15 - Peer Group Feedback
From last weeks review, i was advised to work on a larger scale and explore with materials that had different weights to them. So this is what I have reflected upon the comments given by my tutors an peers.
These three samples I feel reflected on my drawings. Fig 1 was most favoured by people that viewed it. The texture on Fig 2 was one that I feel I could develop on because I like when my work has texture to it and that you could touch. Fig 3 was a very unusual sample as it didn't really relate to my work. However, from the review my peers quite liked how I left the threads hanging and suggested that I expand on that and make the trail longs and thicker.

15/10/15 - Careers Talk
From today’s lecture, I feel as though I am able to be independent after
graduating. After looking at the range of choices after graduating, I now have
the mental ability to do some design related employment alongside other work. What
I mean by this for example is, after graduating, I would work part time job as
an art teacher’s assistant. In my other half of spare time, I would some installation
pieces.
Another useful tip that I received was that building networks in this type of career is vital. Therefore, I will be attending shows, exhibitions, trade fairs etc. I feel that theses connections are important as it could open doors for myself as well as others. You just never know what to expect and that is something that keep me on my toes and keep me motivated.

13/10/15 - Whitworth Visit
From this visit, I do not feel like I benefitted from it in
any way. The objects that were put on display felt very limited. All the pieces
had very intricate details not to forget that they were mostly hand stitched! One
small thing that I was able to select from these was the use of fabric colour
awareness. I have never worked with crisp white materials and am considering using
it in this unit.

12/10/15 - Peer Group Feedback
From today's feedback I received advice for my colour scheme and theme. My
colour scheme was suggested to be used as matte against shiny material. Whereas
my theme was complex and minimal. I felt as though I did not plan out my
presentation well; all my drawings were not all on display therefore my tutor
and peers did not really get a grasp of what else I was looking at. But to set myself
a challenge of working from little information of my drawings here, I will be
selecting key shapes, sizes etc. from these drawings and expanding on them.
The matte colours that will be included are monochrome colours and the shiny colours will be different shades of gold.

08/10/15 - Visual Research Drawings
For research week, I focused on objects that required minimal colour and shapes. These are the everyday objects that I came across; that I think linked well with my intention of minimal colour use.

After a weeks worth of research, I felt as though I hit a wall on what else I could look at. During today's tutorial, we were shown these samples created by the previous year and what they had created. I am really inspired by these specific drawing technique as it is something unusual and something that I myself am into.

This image was inspired by the work done by the previous year. It was fascinating to see how watercolours and acrylic react. This is something that I could see developing in this unit.
Out of all my drawings so far, this is my favourite. the techniques used here was mainly blending charcoal with water colour and then applying gold paint through a henna tube. Applying the gold colour using the henna technique; I found it really useful as I have control over it from doing actual henna on different areas of the body.
